Wishlist---Saw it...but now can't find it!
 

At some point in the past couple days I saw a button marked Wishlist...I've since been searching forums, the FAQ and so forth...but no luck.

Can someone clarify for me how to use this part of the program?

Mac G4 OS X.2.5, DSL, if any of that info is needed.

The button is only there as long as you don't have found any results.

Many moons ago, when there were only few buffalos grazing on the lush plains of Gnutella, it was a practical proposition to allow users to store their dearest wishes and for their computers to search for these files when machine-time was available. Sadly, the plains have now been overrun by rapacious herds and there is a serious traffic management problem. Consequently, this pleasing feature was discontinued and, as far as I know, there is no intention of reinstating it. Hence your inability to find any information on it.

Ahhhhh.....well, at least I now know what happened to it...so I guess hordes of people don't share at all, just take. What a sad thought....

As always, your characterisation is exactly on the mark. The problem lies both in the aggressive way some of the Gnutella applications work and in the feeding habits of the users. Although the developers are working to identify ways of compensating for the excessive traffic, the education of users in more sociable habits is beyond them.
