3.02: does it use the new Java? I just upgraded to the new 3.02 version and will see if it manages to stay up over night. I am curious have we finally gotten to use the new version of Java at this point? |
If you're referring to the beta, 3.0.2, at the bottom of the page, it says a msg about certain people having java 1.3.1 installed, so I'm guessing that's what they're using. If you subscribe to the beta discussion, they've been talking about implementing the new java (1.4.1 I believe), and I don't believe they've actually done it in the latest beta, but I could be wrong. |
Blackbird, the version you are running does use 1.4.1. |
Thank you. |
1.4.1 in JUM version or 3.1 itself? Hi blackbird and Jum, I just dled the new official 3.1 version and wanted to clarify... is Java 1.41 only in the special JUM version or is it in the official 3.1 version as well. The reason that I ask is that I have been told that most of my crashes are the result of Java and I am hoping that once I am using 1.4.1 I won't see as many as I have. Even with 3.0.2 I was still crashing after a couple of hours. We will have to see how this version does... |

java 1.4.1 and official version 3.x Thanks for explaining that... I think I will try your version for awhile because my brand spanking new 3.1 version crashed again after only a few hours. I haven't used ultrapeer for quite some time but it still can't stay up.... I really don't understand why 1.4.1 isn't incorporated into the official version! The crashes make limewire a real pain to use. |

Jum version stayed running all night!!!! Thanks Jum, Your version of limewire 3.1 using Java 1.4.1 appears to be far more stable than the official version. I have had it up and running now for more than 12 hours... all the official versions never made it past hour 3! I will send in an official bug report to limewire to plead with them to finally make the switch. In the meantime I will continue to use yours! thank you so much! |
