Default Transferring Limewire tunes to ITunes??

Have been reading and reading....but haven't found an answer that works....I want to share files, but I don't want to make my entire ITunes list sharing...nor do I want to make all downloaded from Limewire songs --God forbid on DSL-and accidentally become an Ultrapeer!

So....how many should I move every few weeks---yet still keep tunes I really feel should be shared?

On DSL---so few will pick me.

Default Welcome back. We missed you!

Although it is a little inconvenient because it will take some time to set up, divide your iTunes library into convenient bitesized chunks (say of 1000 MP3s). Now all you need to do is to drop into Limewire every couple of week and rotate the folders in the Preferences listing of Shared files. As a guide, very few people offer more than 3000 MP3 at any one time. But one note of caution: if you do offer large numbers, it may make you more visible to anyone looking for possible copyright abuse.

And the news on the ultrapeer front does seem to be improving (although I am not changing my advice just yet).

All the best

David

Default LW to Itunes-Again 91 Saves My Buns!

Doesn't really sound very hard---I can do that without much trouble...I'm not yet dealing in large numbers--not even close, and IF I ever get there---it will be a long time from now!

I was hoping I could copy files to my iTunes folder, leaving them in Sharing--but I don't "see" the mp3's to copy them...are they all stored in some kind of database file? I don't get it.

A note flashed up on my screen earlier today or yesterday saying I had an instant message from Limewire---but I couldn't find a way to get to it! Was that from you, 91?

Thanks as always,
Paula

Default LW to Itunes-shoot!

NOW I see the question down a few threads.....talking about the very same thing...I scanned that list! Don't know how I missed it the first time through.

That's a pretty close description to what is going on with me...I'll try looking at my preferences again and see if I can automate having the titles put in Itunes for burning.

Question

So...is there an easy way to transfer songs from LW to iTunes for burning?
I'm still a tad confused!?

I haven't actually burned a CD yet...I do know that since Itunes is my preference as player, that simply clicking on a tune in the Limewire list of downloaded songs puts the song in the playlist for ITunes...but I can't tell if it's an alias or the actual copy of the song itself...if I do burn one soon I'll post here...haven't needed to yet.

If it's just an alias added to the playlist, I'm assuming it is NOT being burned to CD.

Let me know here if you burn one and find out! I'm too overloaded with computer work to even test it right now!!

Good luck, and keep me (us) posted...

Paula

When itunes opens up any sort of file, it reads the file from the directory the file is saved into. Thus, if you were to burn a playlist, it would burn the files in the playlist onto an audio CD, regardless of where the files are.

Hey, Blackbird,

Very cool to know...I kept meaning to investigate, but never found the time...

I'm delighted by your reply...some year I may find the time!

We have identical set-ups in everything mentioned in your footer...I'm in love with it. Was previously on a 7300 ---yep, started in 1986 and stayed on the dinosaur until last year.

Apple has been very good to me...

Sweet. It's a great setup.

Although not right before this, until about 3 years ago I was using a MasIIsi. And my parents are still on their 7600, although I put in an accelerator, more RAM, FW and USB, it's still in the old box.

Good 'ol Apple
