![]() every time i try to download something, it starts off fast since i have a cable modem... but after a few seconds, it quickly slows and eventually goes to 0kb/s... if i click resume... nothing happens... it will still say that i am downloading from an IP address or 2 hosts, but it is at 0kb/s... if i kill the download, and click on the file to download it again, it will start up the same way, make it a little farther usually, and do the same thing... my connection is fine because my internet and other programs work, and i am still connected and able to search on limewire... help me download.... please... |

![]() You have correctly begun to analyse the method required to download from Gnutella. Every step in your post is absolutely right. The resume button was disconnected some time ago (foolishly the developers have left it in place in case they decide to reactivate it in the future, assuming new users wil not be confused?!?). So you have to monitor each download, carefully keeping the original hits on the search tabs (you have to manage the tabs carefully, manually deleting those no longer in use to stay within the maximum you set in Preferences). The just kill and restart the download from the original hit until that dries up. Then find out if the host has logged off by leaving the stalled download in place and repeating the search using the same typography shown in the downloads window. If the host is still on line, this will usually refresh the download. If it does not, keep records of your partial files and research for the sources over whatever period you have set in your preferences. Only through active management can you download successfully. ![]() |

![]() Hi all. The up and download "stutter" is being looked at by jum (Jens-Uwe Mager), for one. It doesn't happen for everybody. thasquintz, maybe you can help. Have you been watching the stats that graph uploads and downloads? Disabling Ultrapeer helps too. He has made a Pro build available for OS 10.2.6 users at http://baghira.han.de/~jum/ if you're interested. |

![]() Me again... i have looked at the stats... and there is very little movement in the numbers. it usually stays close to zero, but jumps up every now and then. there is nothing on the graph though. i downloaded the pro build that you gave the link for.... i dont know exactly what that will do for me yet though. ultrapeer has been disabled also |

![]() you can find out more about the build by searching for posts by "jum" Here's one http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...1338#post71338 Here's a pretty typical shot of what my uploads are doing. Maybe you're one of those bursts! |
