![]() I am hoping someone will be able to answer my question...I have seen the same question posted in 2 previous threads with no responses. I cannot play downloadd video files in my quicktime or real one players...i continue getting an error message as follows...couldnt open the file----because it is not a file that quicktime understands. the files are avi however and quicktime is supposedly capable of handling these. I am running a small 2003 640 MB ibook with macOSX, and have no other problems with gnutella network....if anyone could answer this i would be grateful |

![]() The problem your suffering from could be the version of Quicktime you are currently using. Try updating to the latest version of the player via Apples website. Another reason could be the codec that the video was originally compressed with isn't supported in quicktime, there are numerous codecs out there and it seems the PC boys keep developing more and more without bothering to check cross compatibility. It is a problem we Mac users have to put up with all the time I'm afraid, whereas most mac developements try to incorporate most users PC, Mac or otherwise. Keep trucking. Rich |
