downloaded skins wont work

I tried downloading the new themes/skins and i saved them where there supposed to be saved but they still dont work and i dont know why. Can someone please help with this problem.

Download the newest version of LimeWire, choose the 'View' menu option, then 'Apply Themes' and then 'Get More Themes'. On the website it brings up, download the skin you'd like via the magnet link (the one that says "Download with Magnet URN and Gnutella") -- it should automatically download within LimeWire. When it's finished downloading, it'll ask if you'd like to apply the new skin.

Doing it through the above method saves all the hassle of having to ensure that you've saved the skins to the correct directories.

i downloaded the new version of LW earlier today 3.4.4 i went there and it said the magnet links only work on windows platform. im using mac 10.2.1 but i clicked on it any ways and it didnt do anything. do you know anything else i can do?

Hrmph -- I thought they worked on macs too.

The other thing you can do is search your computer for a file "default_osx_theme.lwtp". Make sure you copy the theme files you download (via the HTTP link this time) to that folder. Then, if LimeWire is already running, choose View -> Apply Themes -> Refresh Theme, and then View -> Apply Themes -> <your new theme>. Or, in place of choosing the refresh option, you can just restart LimeWire.

Hope that helps.

re: downloaded skins won't work

Dear sberlin,
Thanks so much for your help & reply-I also wasn't sure how to get themes to work, and your response worked like a charm.
Thanks again!

beesk8r,

i am not sure if i can help, but i did get this to work. i am using os 10.2.6 and was using limewire pro version 2.9.8. initially, i was unable to even find an option to "apply themes" in my "view" menu. like you, i was sure i had downloaded the skins to the correct folder, but i didn't know why they weren't showing up. (i downloaded straight from the limewire site, not via the magnet link.) then i downloaded the upgrade to limewire pro. now i do have the option to apply themes in the view menu, and they are working fine.

i hope this helps you.

ok this is really starting to frustrate me. Im running mac osx 10.2 and LW 3.4.4 ive tried everything when you download the themes and they still dont work. When i hold my mouse down i dont even see an option that says "save as". Im so confussed if anybody can break it down and explain to me step by step what to do it would be greatly appreciated. If u want u can IM me at beesk8r04@aol.com or email me.
