I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I SAW A FILE NAMED "NINE INCH NAILS WITH DAVID BOWIE (PINK FLOYD COVER) CONFORTABLY NUBM"

TURNS OUT THE FILE WAS NOT WHAT IT SAID AND NINE INCH NAILS NEVER EVEN DID A PINK FLOYD SONG WITH DAVID BOWIE.

AND MACROMEDIA IS VIRTUAL PC, AND VIRTUAL PC IS VIRTUAL GIRL.

AND YOU KNOOOWWW IT'S NOT FOTOSHOP WHEN THE FILE IS 2,000 KB

I THINK THIS IS THE BIGGEST ISSUE OVER ALL IN FILE SHARING. AND I AM GOING TO TAKE TIME OUT OF MY DAY TO SPAM THIS ALL OVER THIS FORUM, BECAUSE I FEEL IN MY HEART THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR IT.

i agree, stupid files like that stink. the worst is when they call a file something and it turns out to be an old file that doenst do anyone any good. i hate downloading porn ****. it's bugs me. i wish we could do soemthing about it but i guess if those individuals who get fun outta making people download this kinds of files really get a kick out it, we cant do much about it. irriatated to!!!

Fake files, like the ones made by the record industry to irritate consumers and to make them tired of downloading, should be thrown away immediately, that no other users download them..

Someone call the ****ing Wambulance. Big deal don't ****ing waste your time downloading it.

You CAN do something about the spread of those mislabled files.

"launch" is a real handy way to preview a partial download to see if it is what you expected ----- you can kill the DL if it aint.

Limewire defaults downloads to the shared folder, and will share your partial in-progress download. Great, if all is well and content is as advertised -----

IMHO, as a courtesy to the system (and your own person), consider making your DL folder something other than your shared folder. You can move it after you verify/ virus check/ validate it --- instead of spreading the scam.
