Question Videos to iMovie or iDVD

Does anyone know how to transfer video files downloaded from limewire to iMovie/iDVD/Quicktime to ultimately be burned on DVD or CD?

big question--try looking in http://discussions.info.apple.com/ for the complex answer. If you find an easy answer (besides burning a data CD/DVD), post back and let us know.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but iMovie and iDVD only deal in raw data. That is, the original, stream data from a personal camcorder (whatever that file type is called). One would have to get an iMovie or iDVD document (which would have been an original import) in order to import it into either of those applications.

for starts, QuickTime Pro has an export to iMovie setting, iMovie has an export to iDvd, and there are all sorts of complexities involved with hardware, OS configurations, and a variety of proprietary 'standards.'

Ripping quality video to cd and dvd's used to get more posts on the iMovie/iDvd forums than "awaiting sources" did here (I tried following the threads for a few months). They eagerly await OS and iLife upgrades the way new LW versions are anticipated here.

I didn't know any of that, thank you.

Last time I used iMovie it was just iMovie (just 1, the original) on my old iMac, and the only way you could import information (besides a physical connection to a camcorder) was to get these massive (and i mean HUGE) files in this raw sort of format. It was a like a gig for about two minutes. Pretty crazy for my little 13 GB drive on that imac.

Default Appreciation to Replies on Videos

Thanks to all who have posted a response to my thread. The information was useful. In this regards, has anyone used "Diva" or "Toast" to be able to interface various videos from one medium to another?

Thanks again
