Angry I am having a bit of a problem.

It's kinda tickin me off. I have a G4 with plenty of memory and speed. However, recently when I load Limewire, the program doesn't get past the 'Loading Core Components....' stage of start up. Does anybody know what's wrong. I have tried everything I know.....could I get some suggestions.

A couple suggestions:

1. Completely remove LW and do a full installation.
2. Check for Java updates.
3. Try loading without Classic running

Are there any preferences that are "hidden," such as a file without the limewire name? I haven't been using Classic at all for about a month, so I don't think that's it. Reinstall.....the install I have been getting is just 'drag this to your apps folder' --> is that reinstalling or should I find a version with the install interface? Thanks for the help -- I'll keep working on it and let you know what happens.

Try downloading the newest 3.6.3 beta, it has an installer that should make things a little easier for you. It's available from clicking on the 'beta' link towards the bottom of the download page.

Thumbs up

I just did that, I'll see if it works..... it worked....that's weird though. Why would the beta version work while all the others, that worked before, don't work. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks a lot....
