Cannot trash desktop Mac installer

This may be a Mac issue rather than a Limewire one but I hope someone can help me out. I was downloading the OS X version and aborted and now I have a zip file I connot get off my desktop. Everytime I try to put it in the trash I get the message the file is being used by another task and to trash it once that is complete. Near as I can tell it is not being used by another task. Can anyone help me on this. Thanks

You can also use an app named cocktail...works great
