![]() Well, I've never used Verizon DSL before but I have used SBC's. I had a problem for a long time trying to get my X Box Live to connect. It couldn't find the server no matter what I did. Even calling tech support didn't help. I finally worked it out to this when I called SBC. Most DSL modems come with some kind of hardware firewall. Now I'm not sure how you would modify it, but it should be in your documentation. Just make sure port 6346 is open. |

![]() Sometimes a high numbered port can avoid the simple controls that might be on the default ports like 6346. It's a pain setting the router, firewall and LW prefs for a port like, say, 23456, but it works for my 1mbps cable connection. Tech support--who weren't informed of the controls the webmasters were using--had to change the cablemodem several times when I could show I was getting packet loss (as reported in Network Utility pings to the ISP server).
