![]() HELP! I'm having a similar problem...when I try to click on LW in my dock, it just bounces and the entire dock disappears for a second and then reappears. Same thing happens if I try to open it from my hard drive, it just makes the hard drive disappear for a second and then reappear. I'm running OS 10.2.6 and I also checked Quicktime and that is version 6.0.1. I tried to check my LW to see what version it was but the info wouldn't open either. I downloaded it just a few days ago and LOVE it! I'm so sad now--what should I do to fix this? I'm not the huge computer whiz and was confused about what you were telling people earlier about downloading and doing disk repair and stuff, so it'd be great if you could keep it as simple as possible. Thanks. |

![]() Hi GoatGirl, In order to fix this, we need some information on what's causing the actual problem. Can you please click somewhere on the Desktop, then click Go -> Application, open the "Utilities" folder, and open the "Console" program? Then go back to LimeWire and try starting it. Ideally, something will be written in the Console as to why LimeWire is failing to start. Could you please copy the information and post it in a reply in this thread? Thanks very much, Sam |

![]() Here is what I saw in the console log: 2003-10-26 15:53:29.435 Dock[438] CFLog (0): CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not proper UTF-8. The file name for this data could be: Contents/Info.plist -- file://localhost/LimeWire/LimeWire.app/ The parser will retry as in 10.1, but the problem should be corrected in the plist. Thanks for replying, makes me glad to know someone is out there to help! |

![]() Thanks for the reply and information, GoatGirl. I've never seen that particular error before. Which version of LimeWire did you download? After you downloaded, was the install process like the normal OSX installer (asking you to type in your password, etc..) or was there directions to "drag the LimeWire folder to your hard disk"? Could you please locate the LimeWire application (if it's on your desktop or dock, control-click on that link, and choose 'Show In Finder'. Then choose the LimeWire icon, control-click on it, and choose "Show Package Contents". Open up the 'Contents' folder. There should be a file called "Info.plist" there -- could you please email that file to sberlin@limepeer.com ? For now, the best thing I can say to do is to redownload the program from the website. I'm not sure what caused your error. Please email that file before reinstalling LimeWire, though. Thanks, Sam |
