![]() Limewire Pro3.6.14 doesn't start though I clicked Limewire application icon. The icon of limewire appeard on dock, but it disappeared soon. Same thing occured Limewire Pro 3.6.6, I got a support from support desk, but they told me that have detected a bug, and prompted me to use Beta Version without particular explanation, not a previous Pro Version. It's a crazy thing and I thought a ****** company. So I need a help from someone. On installation, I deleted all files that related Limewire (icon, folder, preference, etc) Last edited by KathW; November 11th, 2003 at 12:42 PM. |

![]() I imagine that you first installed 10.0, then upgraded to 10.2. You can fix this one of two ways. The best way, if you still have the OS X installation CDs is to pop the first CD in and navigate to: Mac OS X Install Disc 1 -> System -> Installation -> Packages -> BSD.pkg and double-click to install that package. Alternatively, you can go to /Applications/LimeWire, ctrl-click on the LimeWire application, choose 'Show Package Contents', open on the 'Contents' folders, ctrl-click on the 'Info.plist' file, choose 'Open With', choose 'Other', scroll down on the right and choose 'TextEdit". Within TextEdit, find the line that reads "<string>prelude</string>" and change it to "<string>LimeWire</string>". Save the file, close TextEdit. After you've done either procedure, LimeWire should open as normal. We've modified our installation scripts so that all this isn't necessary if the user didn't have BSD installed, but for the existing installations these steps are required. Thanks, Sam |

![]() Tasy, You really don't want to do that. If you are running Panther, I recommend updating Java via Software Update or going to http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/java.html . If you're running Jaguar or whatever 10.1 is called, I recommend re-installing LimeWire. I have absolutely no clue what side-effects changing LIME to LimeWire will have, but I do not think they're good. Thanks, Sam |

![]() Sberlin, I tried to reinstall before I have asked here, by uninstalling and reinstalling. But no solution I could get. I'm using OS X 10.2.8. Currently, I can use Limewire Pro, though the right side of system Preference window is cut a little bit. It maybe bad, I cannot help doing that way for now. Thank you for advise. |
