i am pretty sure i have the updated java though because when i run system updater it doesn't find anything to update, and that should be posted... the exact message in the terminal was: Last login: Fri Jan 9 00:27:02 on ttyp1 Welcome to Darwin! Sarah-Minchoms-Computer:~ sarahminchom$ java -version Bus error Sarah-Minchoms-Computer:~ sarahminchom$ ...it really just said bus error. so is it that the java app is corrupt? |

>so is it that the java app is corrupt? Looks that way. I do know that Apple had a ton of problems with the release of Panther and Java upgrades -- we've been pulling our hair out over the issues we've had to work around. Installing the update as downloaded from their website won't hurt anything, especially if Java is broken already. It can only potentially help. Please let us know how it goes after installing the update. Thanks. |

Glad to hear it worked! If you have a spare minute, could you copy the log here (or if it's too large, just email it to me at sberlin@limepeer.com ?) I'd like to send it to the java-dev folks so they can find out what's going wrong it fix it. |
