i am pretty sure i have the updated java though because when i run system updater it doesn't find anything to update, and that should be posted...

the exact message in the terminal was:

Last login: Fri Jan 9 00:27:02 on ttyp1

Bus error

...it really just said bus error.

so is it that the java app is corrupt?
