Default tale of two emacs

Both running Panther, My daughter downloaded and installed limewire on her machine worked fine for a couple days, wanted to "clean up" the desktop and mistakenly deleted limewire "green"button and related leftovers from the down load into the trashcan. She has re-downloaded and tried to reinstall several times, everything downloads fine but when the install is completed it does not leave the "green" button on the desktop so she cannot open limewire. I downloaded limewire on my identical emac and it installs the "green" button and works fine. Could there be some leftover debris on my daughters emac from the original download that is preventing the "green" button from showing up upon reinstalling the new downloaded software? thanks for your help.

Why don't you just try copying "the little green button" and putting it on your daughter's emac?

still will not install. everthing goes thru the proper steps but when your done with the install, no icon on the desktop.
Puzzled why it will install on one emac and not another "identical" machine. thanks for any help.

You can always navigate to Applications -> LimeWire and create an alias yourself. Some Macs don't have the proper tools to let the LimeWire installer create an alias on the desktop.
