Default Anyone can help me with crashing???

Hello, recently i installed limewire and after the first time of using it, i searched for something and played around with the program then it suddenly crashed!!!!! and it says it unexpectedly quits..so i installed/upgrade my limewire over again to see if it helped..i guess it stopped crashing but i am worrying that it might affect my osx or other software..so i did a serach for my crash report..and found a crash report for my limewire and java...i think they are both related to the crash..so i was wondering if anyone can help me with my crash report and tell me what exactly happened to my limewire and my computer? should i reinstall my os?? thanks!

don't reinstall the system! This is a drastic/last resort step!

You are using Panther? 10.3.2? LW 3.9.1? It helps cut down on guesswork if you post your specs,

Try a safe boot and repair permissions first. See .here for more details

I guess you saw this error message?

If so do nothing and enjoy the wonderful world of protected memory and unix although stief's tips ain't wrong. Repainring premissions etc. is always a good thing™.

rkapsi--I saw a few of those with a recently installed 10.3.2 setup on a G4, and sent them in. A safe boot/repair permission worked.

The crashlogs showed a java kern protection failure, so I guessed it was an Apple problem with java on Panther, not LW.

Is that correct?

That's correct. LW can't crash this way, only the JavaVM can.

Hey thanks guys...i have reinstalled lw twice on my system (by clicking on upgrade in installer) and ran disk permission..since java vm is also crashed i was wondering if anything would affect the os?? and does multiple installs of one application create any problems? or it simply just overwrites same fiiles? i have been paranoid about osx because i had sooooo many crashes and unstable problems.. thansk!!
