Question behind a firewall??? No....

I am running OS X.3 latest version. I have downloaded twice from Limewire, but now when I try to download it stalls my whole internet connection. I have restart my router to get my internet connection back. Limewire claims I am behind a firewall, but I am at home w/ no firewall. Someone please help! It worked two days ago and now it doesn't work at all!!!

OSX has a built in Firewall
Go to Apple Menu->System Preferences->Sharing->Firewall->New and scroll down to select Gnutella/Limewire (6346).

That will tell the Firewall to allow connections to port 6346 which is the default port ('channel') LimeWire needs to connect easily with others also using the Gnutella network

Default tried it

Thanks for the info... I tried it but it still stalls my internet connection. Do I have to start the firewall with the limewire/gnutella port open? I didn't, but maybe that's what I have to do. So frustrating.

Your router also has to open port 6346. What model router is it?

looks like their website might help http://web.belkin.com/config/network2/index0.asp

Search their knowledge base with the keywords "gateway" or "Virtual Server" instead of 'port forwading.' From what I could see, only ONE computer can be set to receive forwarded ports from outside.
