Invisible files on Mac OS X

I'm using Limewire for Mac OS X. It worked fine, until I moved all
the Limewire files into a seperate folder. (after unpacking the
compressed file, all Limewire files and folders are installed in the
downloads folder and not in their own separate folder)
I forgot to reset the preferences for the incomplete en shared
folder. This resulted in that the files that were subsequently
downloaded disapeared. It turned out that there where put in the
Private folder as invisible files. I have no idea how to recover the
files / make them visible again.

Something similar happened to me, I just got the os X version and when i'm downloading files they show up in the incomplete folder but when they finish they just disappear. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I' not using OSX, but I had the same thing happen to me. I tried changing the download storage folder pref; that didn't work. I wound up saerching for my completed d'loads in Sherlock and dragging them to the desktop and re-filing them. The findr would always claim they were in my D'load folder...

You saved them on a folder or on the OS 9 desktop somehow. I don't know why but the OS 9 Desktop Folder is invisable.
