Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

Songs stopped appearing in iTunes I just upgraded from Mac OS 10.3.3 to 10.3.4 and from iTunes 4.5 to 4.6 Now when I download songs from Limewire, they no longer show up in my iTunes Limewire playlist. They are only in the appropriate shared folder on my hard drive. I have to drag them into Limewire to play them. Not that it's a big problem, but never had this happen before until I did both upgrades. Songs ALWAYS downloaded directly into iTunes. I checked the Limewire preferences-and the iTunes support is still checked (Limewire version 4.0.5). I'm afraid to upgrade to 4.0.7 cause I previously had a terrible time with Limewire disconnecting my Internet cable connection. 4.0.5 is the first version that didn't cause this problem for me, also don't know if the latest version would even fix this. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Yes: make sure you also click Apply. Otherwise, no, I have no other suggestions at the moment.

If you're happy with the version of LW you have, then maybe stick with it until 4.1 comes out. Other than what murasame suggested, I could only suggest to go 'utility' correction be that mac or 3rd party such as the usual main ones (Norton, Diskwarrior, TechTool Pro.) Startup from the Panther startup disk & repair permissions & check the other mac utilities. Previously in OS9 when you installed/updated software there could be minor problems which could be repaired by rebuilding the desktop or/& using 3rd utilities to adjust everything to normal. But OSX is not so obvious. Try my earlier suggestions & see if it makes a difference. If not, (& please try both mac & 3rd party) then repost back her to this thread. By the way, DiskWarrior not only rebuilds the desktop but repairs any damage to the directory info. which is vital info. Otherwise you'll have saving issues, etc. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; July 31st, 2004 at 06:45 PM. |

Anyway, my Mac is clean (says diskWarrior) and have no other problems than this one. It seems obvious that's a LimeWire's bug. Why not admitting that fact and asking people to check everything else ? I did, found nothing wrong. Still doesn't work. thanks for your help guys. |

It was my impression Norton v.7 was released as a reflex under pressure to have something available for OSX. But it was very under- developed (almost like a beta/alpha version.) I have a suspicion their comment refered to v7. V8 seems to be up to the mark. You need to keep all your utilities up-to-date b/c Mac OS updates reasonably often. Correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't have the same issues when I updated to 10.3.4 or updated my iTunes (but I use LW 4.0.4.) Have you checked out Apple's FAQ's & such re: os & iTunes updates. You sound like a person who doesn't mind doing a bit of research. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; August 1st, 2004 at 09:54 PM. |

I'm not sure if everyone here has figured out there problems as of yet, but, I just upgraded to OS 10.3.5 and iTunes 4.6 (15) {not sure what thw 15 means} and had the same problem. I went to iTunes prefs, clicked on importing and changed the setting for "import using" from AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder and it seems to be working now. Not real sure if this was the actual thing to do, being that I have no idea what AAC means, but it's working so I'm not complaining. Hope this helps, if I'm wrong, feel free to say so. I could learn to. |
