LimeWire messes up my sound....

Hi
Limewire keeps killing my system sounds whenever I launch another program, esp. if it's a sound prog like iTunes. :( My system sounds just up and quit. However, if I quit all the other open apps my sound comes back. How can I fix it? I'm currently running OSX 10.3.4
any help would be appreciated :)
It otherwise works fine. I'm using the latest free version of Limewire.

That's an odd behaviour. Can you tell us more about your machine; how much RAM, cpu speed, model, does it only happen with LW? It sounds like a ram/cpu issue but unless we know more!? Is iTunes set as your LW player?
I forgot to ask, have you tried re-opening/restart playing iTunes after LW has opened?

hi
It's an 800MHz G4 eMac with 640MB Ram.
Yeah, I tried to close iTunes and bring it up again, but that didn't help. I did have iTunes as my LW player, but since I'm having this trouble I turned that off. I only have this trouble with LW.

I don't think I have any answers for you unless somebody else on the forum can add anything. Perhaps try stopping iTunes before you open LW & re-open it after. Which version LW do you have? Sorry!
I know just a little abou iMacs but nothing about eMacs. The early-mid history iMacs didn't have much in the way of graphic card support, meaning much of the sudden stress & strain of some apps fell directly upon the RAM & CPU. This could be an issue you might have to live with, but try to find a way to accomodate both somehow.

ok, Thanks for trying to help. :)
I'm using LW 4.0.7 (free version)
It's working now. Not sure what I did different. Except Im using iTunes to play songs from iPod. Weird.
thanks
