I just upgrade for limewire 4.0.7 from 4.0.5 it was working fine, but and after i install font reserve, limewire start to crashes all the time so i ask if is maybe a font missing problem? someone knows if limewire requires a particular font to run? or maybe i have to dowgrade my version? thanks |
Just a quick respinse until somebody else answers it. Which OS X version do you have? Personally I gave up on 3rd party font managers b'c I found Font Book did the job so well (& it's a generic mac app. so there's no compatiblilty issues with any mac app.) There could be some type of a clash b'w the 2 apps. You 'might' find it clashes with more than one app. Are you sure you have the most recent update & how old is the update (remember Mac OSX updates fairly often.) Chances are Font Reserve version you have is not fully up-to-date whether they've since released an update or not. Font Book also allows you to add OS 9 fonts (if you have a dual OS) & add fonts for various collections such as for web, apps, OS9, OSX, overall or specific purposes. I don't think it has a repair utility as some 3rd party font apps have though. It's an alternative, & if one font manager is giving you probs, then it's maybe time to look at another. Mac OSX is forever developing & changing! |
my version on "about this mac" is the 10.3.4 sure the mac application works fine but i have to print all my font catalogue and font reserveis is fine for this, i thinking to unistall it after the print |
David: I would say definitely YES it is a font problem. I farted around with my fonts when I installed Suitcase and screwed LW up totally! I don't use FontReserve, so I don't know how it is configured, but pop in your Panther install CD and restore the fonts in your System/Library/Fonts to what they are on the install CD. LW doesn't seem to mind if you add or delete fonts in the Library/Fonts or User/blahblah... but those System fonts have to stay. This is based on my recent experience, so YMMV. |
