I went to the folder were LimeWire was installed and did a "command I" on the LimeWire file then associated it with Terminal. Now all I have to do is double click the Limewire file and it runs.
But I won't stop there I want a pretty icon, don't we all. I downloaded Iconographer 2.0.2, copied the Limewire logo form the web, resized it in Photoshop to 32x32 and pasted it into Iconographer theen I saved the icon into Limewire. I then "command L" the Limewire file and made an alias, drag and drop to where I put all my X apps, in a docked folder.
It works great.

Anyway, does anyone know how to build an icon for the app so that we can run it directly from the desktop instead of through the terminal app? Thanks</font>

Wink

if you are getting the permission denied message when installing limewire,
open the terminal window and type:
chmod 777 LimeWireMacOSX.sh

this changes the permissions on the file. then you can run the installer. be sure, however, that after you run it you notice that it opens up a new window for you to click 'next', etc.

Ive been having pretty good luck with LW. I recall it installing fairly fast. I downloaded via cable to a quick silver 733.

Not sure what you are trying to do on the desk top, but i just draged the icon (in osx this may be a link to other files as well but only makes and alias depending were you drag it to) to my dock.

some issues: won't always start the first time (quites instantly) after a crash or exit, it is not consistant with the files it remembers are downloading upon the next session

i have down loaded each version since 1.6, and never had a prob. if the download takes more than 15 min start again.

i miss the old green plug, but not enough to get rid of the coffee cup from NASA, not that it makes any sense.

Which raises a more important question: Why design a Furbie that necessitates opening and soldering it. Apple was on the right track by trying to design a computer that you don't have to think about (granted, they failed miserably). I don't give a crap what's happening behind the scenes. I've got much more important things to worry about than terminals and UNIX.

I didn't have any problems downloading or uninstalling limewire 18-c. I didn't have to use the terminal. Are you guys sure you have the latest stuffit expander? The icon does not present in the dock (it is an applet icon), but I don't mind.

I'd try to redownload the installer (perhaps disable firewalls). Also, i'm using Internet explorer 5.1. Other browsers may give you problems?

Peace,
Gratis

file transfer interuppted = completed by other means than your computer alone (ie. they got their file from multiple hosts!)
