computer freeze's, have to cold reboot! Have pro & current EVERYTHING

whats up with limewire? I dont understand and i would like to know if this happeneds to anyone else.
I have pro, just went pro.
Had problem before I went pro also.
Have mac os x 10.3.5, 700 MHz PowerPC G3
Dont need any software updates.
Limewire freezes when I am away from my computer, so its pointless to leave it on in hopes of downloading files. I have come back to see my screensaver frozen, and then have to cold reboot (hold power button down)
I have limewire client 4.0.8 Pro
My ports are open. Everything in working order.

Why doesnt it freeze when I am at my computer? Have one thought: limewire says "you dont have a valid internet connection"- so I say Ok, disconnect my airport connection and then reconnet. That seems to be the only difference- the only user required feature that might affect the computer freezing.
Cant think of anything else to add. I read about someone else having this problem, but I have been using Limewire for a long time now, and this seems to be a reoccuring problem; happens with different versions of limewire and different versions of mac os x (10.2 & 10.3)

What type of computer sleeping do you have your comp set to. It might be related to computer/monitor sleep or your screensaver clashing with LW. U said it only happens when you're away from your comp. & that's when your comp sleeps/screensaver comes on (certainly hope u don't let it sleep whilst it's on the net!) I don't know about osx, but in earlier mac os's, screensavers were infamous for clashing with other apps or even the system. Try disabling your screensaver when using LW, after all, you're not going to see it if you're not there. And turn your monitor off if you're worried about it. Hope that helps.

In addition to what LOTR says about sleeping, there is a lock-up that is triggered by using the resume button: it's fixed for the next beta version.

In 4.0.8, awakening can take a long time (sometimes >5 minutes).

If you've been having problems for a while, when was the last time you did a safe boot (holding the shift key on startup) and permission repair?
