can't browse hosts

hi i can't seem to be able to connect to any hosts to browse their libraries. i'm not behind any firewall besides whatever macosx offers in the first place. i know this isn't much information, but if anyone has had a similar problem or knows how to fix this it would be much appreciated.

I'm not a knowledge on this, but I think they need to be setup to allow such browsing.

Browsing hosts

Actually this has brought up a question I've had for awhile.

First, is there a way to enable or disable browsing of the host - meaning, is there any way to prevent or allow users to browse your files?

Second, when you click the "browse host" button, exactly *which* host are you browsing (assuming the file you selected had more than one host?)

To my understanding, & I'm happy to be corrected, but the 'Enable Incoming Searches' option at the top left of the Monitor window in LW is where u decide whether you will allow browsing.

Which host? I wondered the same thing! I would have guessed it would be the 1st one LW could best connect to. If that's one you're dwnlding from, then that's who it'd be. These are my opinions only, I'm happy to be proved wrong. No actually I hope that's how it is. Otherwise it could get confusing.
