Default New File to Share...

I have a new file...
I'm trying to share this file...
I know that there are many versions of LW and OSX that create different issues for originating files and sharing them but I would love say, a step by step on how to share your new mov/mpg/avi file using:

LW 4.0.7 / OSX 10.3.5

I have read a few helpful hints but so far no results, so can we just pretend that I haven't read anything at all and give me the blow by blow...

I'm particularly frustrated because I can't even get my new file to appear in the 'library' of my own software, even after refreshing, rebooting and renaming the file...

Anyway, I hope some good samaritan out there would be willing to so a live chat or send me a silly step by step....

Go to the Finder and press on your keyboard: Cmd-Shift-H (it will take you to your comp's Home. The Cmd key is the one with the apple on it and you have to press the three simultaneously, k?)
The Shhared folder us rught there. Drag the file into the folder and Launch LW.
Wait for it to finish recognising the shared files: if you have a lot, you will see a #/# at the bottom left of the window which indicates how many files LW is sharing/how many files are for sharing. In other words, this shows how many files are in the fonders that you have specified as Shared.
When this #/# shows only one number, go to your Library and into the Shared folder and check if the thing is in there.
