Go iTunes Prefs & Shared & tick both of the option boxes for sharing. I think this will solve the issue. Oh & the beta also has xtra DAAP share options; see: LW beta 4.1.5 (click on link) & the following 3 posts.

The share prefs in iTunes are for lan sharing, I only have one mac (unfortunately) But two different users both with admin authority. If either of us copies a cd into itunes then there is no problem with the other user seeing the music. It is only music downloaded from LW that the other user cannot see. At the moment we have to import the itunes library xml from the other users file (Users:username:music:itunes:iTunes Music Library.xml) in order to update our respective libraries
this also imports playlists, some of which are duplicates, which is a pain to keep deleting
I guess what i need to know is where do place my library folder(s) and LW folders,
At present the iTunes lib is at users: shared:iTunes:iTunes music
and our respective LW folders are at:- users:username:shared
both users have a folder at users:username:music:iTunes , these remain empty so it appears that although the actual files are placed in a shared folder the library information is not.
Help!

I don't have any experience of this type of issue. Perhaps Stief might be better at solving this one. You can pm him.

. . . rkapsi is the iTunes expert (I'll see if I can get a message to him).

Have you tried setting the LimeWire Shared folder in the Users: Shared folder? That might work: both accounts would then share the same Shared and Incomplete folders if they were in the common OS X Shared folder.

But what if one of them wants to dwnld some private material they don't want the other to have access to. lol ;) :D

Hi

There's unfortunately no simple solution. Check out the following page and read the comments.

I recommend to create a backup of the entire library and to resore the original iTunes settings (move the iTunes directory back to /Users/username/Music) otherwise you'll have problems to follow the instructions.

Stief's suggestion along with DAAP would also work but it is probably not that what you're looking for. With iTunes 4.7 and Fast User Switching it's also possible to share music between multiple accounts (to destroy your hopes: it's based on DAAP aka iTunes Music Sharing -- previous iTunes version refused to launch if one instance of iTunes was already open).
