Angry Searching OS-specifically

A simple Question:

I'm currently using a PC with win XP to download files - how can I tell what kind of Programs I download - for which OS I mean, e.g. if I want to download something to use on my iBook with OS X...?

Can I search for files for special OS?

Not really. THe extensions, though, help narrow the choices and if you filter .exe's that helps.

Since pretty well only OSX uses .dmg files, search for that extension.

.sit is another extension mostly used by macs, though now .zip is starting to become more common for OSX.
