Default LMW runns slow down

Hi I have the problem of slow down, as some around. I have a G4, 933 Mhz, 1.23 GB SDRAM, and a firewall connection on 250k direct at home, so I don't understan why in my LW 4.2.3 I can just have when runs the faster 25 k even with just one file. Doe's any body outher ...

If you're refering to 250 kbps then that's the same speed as me. It can depend upon who you're connected to. For example, there's one particular source I get a lot of files but the max I get from that source is bout 4-5 KB/s. But then, sometimes if I'm dwnlding from other sources & a no. of files I can also get 25+ KB/s.

Same here.
I never get more that 25k. even though I could be downloading from like 6 users.

I do get individual files downloading over 20 KB/s. Everyday almost. And sometimes at max if that's the only file I'm downloading (ie: 25-27 KB/s.) It of course depends on who you're downlding from & how much bandwidth they have to offer for uploads. There are so many factors that may play a part. Even congestion on your or others ISP connection networks. It's always best if you're uploading at the same time.

Here's some hints on optimising LW: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.
