Share large files? I seem to have problems sharing files larger than 2GB (roughly). I did a test, I added an empty folder and then I copied a 4.3GB .dmg image file to it. While it was beeing copied I watched from the library what happened in the added folder. I hit the update button after every 250MB. Sure enough, it showed up after a few secs, and it was still in the folder until it had reach 2GB! Then it just vanished..."Poff" and it was gone! I repeated the test 2 times with the same result. So... Is there a 2 GB limit? If so, any way around it? Can't find anything about it in the FAQ or the userguide. Cheers! Mr. Spiff (using LW 4.2.6 pro on OS X 10.3.7. Powermac 2x2Ghz, 1GB RAM.) |
Yup, there's a 2GB limit. No way around it right now. Gonna take some protocol updates to fix it. Fortunately, the updates exist, we just need to start using'm. A patch has been submitted (as part of a much larger patch) that adds support -- at some point we'll whittle away the necessary parts and add it. |
Aha! Thx for a very fast reply! Nice to know it's nothing on my side that's causing problems for a change.. :D Just have to wait for the patch then. Ah well, can't be helped I guess, but please; be as quick as possible! Tia Mr. Spiff |
