Completed Downloads Won't Play more than the Preview Does Everytime I complete I download something IE a video, they claim to contain say.. 11 mbs ect.. yet when I open them they only show as much as the preview has shown throughout the download, which are defenitly not all of 11 mbs. Any ideas? Does it matter that I am warned during the download the file "may be corrupted"?-Boondock Saint |
1. A file may be corrupted warning on a video file may either mean you can't play it or only be able to view a portion of it. 2. When you preview a file, it leaves a preview file in the incomplete folder. So this preview file will only be as large as it was when you previewed it. These files generally Preview at the beginning or end of the file name. 3. A video file that's only 11 MB is only going to last for a minute or 3. That's a very small video file. Movie files (full movies) are generally CD size like between 500 MB to 700 MB in size. |
(MORE INFO) Completed Downloads Won't Play more than the Preview Does Hey again, Forgot this info in my last post. I am running limewire 4.6 I have a G5 emac, I'm not sure about a firewall, if I can and have one up i'll shut it off. I am on my schools ethernet network t1 i believe. Anyway.. Everytime a download (video) completes I open it in my completed downloads folder and it opens. The issue is that it only plays as much as the preview did throughout the downloading. Thanks. boondock saint |
Thanks, Can I search somehow for uncorrupted files? Thanks, Is there a way to find uncorrupted files? Many of the ones I download give me this warning. boondock |
Try to stay away from T3 sources for new music; see: T3 Spammers For movies I've heard T1 but no confirmation. Best thing is to preview the file to make sure it's ok. But then if you're previewing music that may mean it imports into iTunes. After LW's been open for at least 30 mins Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image If it's True then that's good. IF it's False then there may be something partially blocking LW. It 'might' be affecting your downlds. |
thanks thanks |
