LimeWire is a Java application which means you must have the JVM for it to run right, the JVM is something that's attached to your browser. goto www.javasoft.com and download the JRE (Java-runtime Environment) or you can go to the website for the browser you have and download the JVM(Java-virtual Machine).

It may sound complicated but just find the java-plugin for your browser and then limewire will work.

dude...the install file for limewire for osx won't run automatically upon downloading...you must save it to disk first....then you will need to get your hands dirty and open terminal to run the installer fromt he command line...

...here are the basic steps to get limewire running in os x from the terminal window (command line)

1. d/l the file
2. open terminal window, and go to path of where file was d/l'ed
3. type "sh LimeWire.sh" (remember...unix is case sensitive)
4. message appears saying "Preparing to install..." (this will take a few minutes ...be patient and let it run...
5. window will appear...choose install folder/path
6. once completed...navigate from command line to LimeWire directory....
7. once in LimeWire directory...type "./LimeWire"
8. again, wait a few minutes...and the nice graphical interface of LimeWire will appear...the application is simply "java" as far as the finder is concerned...

good luck

Unhappy also problems installing limewire

I also have problems installing limewire. After a full hour looking at the screen with the message preparing to install, i had it. I think there must be serious checked if there is no better way to install limewire. I use RH7.1 server edition with a 686 500 p3 computer with 512 mb. I have plenty of space, but it just won't install.
