![]() I just installed Limeware today and started using it. Downloaded some music and programs. I have the latest Apple OS and an Ibook. Additionally, everything on my computer has been reset. What is going on? When I lost everything, I was trying to install Word and clean up my harddrive. I did not put any of these folders in the trash and some how the items that were in my trash were deleted. HELP - it took weeks to build up my music library and my husband will kill me. Thanks. |

![]() It's impossible for LW to delete folders (there's no code to do that). So you don't have a LimeWire problem, but maybe some of us can help. Before you reinstall everything, can you give more details? It would help if people knew your level of experience on OS X (i.e, do you know how to search your hard drive, or at the other end, use the Console, or use the Terminal?) btw--use the PM button to if you don't want to make public posts. Your preferences can be reset if OS X runs out of memory . . . |

![]() I know how to search the harddrive and tried to find some of the missing files to no avail. Essentially my computer seems to be reset to its original settings while all my data disappeared. My experience with computers is beginner/intermediate? |

![]() ok I can help with the easy fix at least. To run the automatic system file check ("Safe Boot") , -shutdown your machine, wait ~3 minutes, and restart. As soon as you hear the start-up tone, -hold down the shift key (you can let go once you see the grey spinning cog). After quite a bit longer than a usual startup, the splashscreen will show "Safe Boot" Let it continue, and with luck, your desktop and folders willl be back to normal. If not, please post your machine specs. Just go to the Apple menu -> About this Mac to get OS X Version (10.3.8) Processor (700 MHz G3) Memory (384 MB) Then click once on the hard drive and use command-i to get the used/free numbers Available (3.1 GB) Used (24.83 GB).
