I've had the same problem. Mine is a hard-wired ethernet connection. I've followed the advice from a number of other threads which have helped a lot on some fronts. I still get the same problem though, that after a few hours, my computer loses its connection to the ethernet modem and I get a message from LW saying that I don't have an active internet connection. This happens after about 3-4 hours and I also have to unplug the power from my ethernet modem and power it up again to re-activate the connection.

Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Normally, routers should not lock up under load.
Could you check on your router constructir's site if your firmware is up to date ?
Do you have a Norton auto-protect or equivalent protection software enabled ?

On the other side, some friends using emule/kaaza/.. behind some VoDSL router have report thet their router powers off due to the excessive number of connections their p2p soft make

In my case: LW -> Airport -> DLINK 1000 AccessPoint -> VoDSL router -> Web, I never face any problem.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try a few things this weekend and, if successful, I'll post the best solution.
