Default LimeWire Crashing after updating to 4.8.1

I was using the previous versions of LimeWire with no problem/bugs whatsover. I am running a 1.6Ghz G5 with OS 10.3.8

I updated to 4.8.1 and the nightmare began.

I can run LimeWire for about 10 minutes or so before it gives me a window stating it has had an internal error. It gives me different options for reporting or ignoring it. By the time this window comes up the program doesn't lock up per se but the spinning rainbow circle replaces my mouse when LimeWire is running and I have to force quit because it just stays like that. When I start the program up again it says it can't recover my previous downloads.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling LimeWire from scratch.
I have tried to reinstall Java but the installer won't run because it says I already have the latest version.
I have run First Aid on my hard drive. Nothing seems to work.

HELP!!!

Try deleting your LW Preferences found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Try the Java & other hints here: icon bouncing in Dock (click on link) Go to the bottom of that thread & you'll find some hints about how to overcome the installation of Java issue. ie: You get the "null" message in the Apple installer when a OS X thinks a more recent version is installed. Double-click the harddrive icon, open the Library, open the Receipts folder, then find the file: Install Java142Update2.pkg, delete it and try again.
