My LM 4.8.1 Basic won't start. I have tried all the things I have read in the forum.
When I type : java -version in the Terminal, I get the answer : Bus error.

I can't re-install Java 1.4.2 under Tiger even if I remove the receipts from the Library.

What should I try?

I am concerned about Limewire and OSX 10.4 myself. I heard that they don't work together. Is this true.

10.4 and LW work great on all macs I tried (4). If it doesn't work, try reinstalling tiger from the DVD (upgrade option). This should fix the problem with retaining all your documents and preferences. I recommend you going in disk utility and repair permissions of your HD before AND after the upgrade.

I can down-load everything perfectly and play partly also everything.
Only mp3 cannot be left playing and wmv itself only some thus not all playing.
Under Panther thus 10,3 ran the mp3s perfectly.

Ich kann alles einwandfrei runterladen und teilweise auch alles abspielen.
Nur mp3 lassen sich garnicht Abspielen und wmv lassen sich nur einige also nicht alle Abspielen.
Unter Panther also 10.3 liefen die mp3s einwandfrei.
Kann mir da einer einen Tipp geben warum das so ist.
