I am going crazy...please help.

I tried opening my limewire this morning and it just bounced and wouldn't open. This is the first time this happened. I deleted it and reinstalled the program a bunch of times, to no avail. I don't have the mac os x cd, so i wasn't able to try that fix. i tried finding the <script> language, but it did not appear in my limewire program text. I also tried installing limewire 3.16.5, which i downloaded from oldversions.com, but the program just kept trying to open in virex and i couldn't get it to download.
It seems that something is wrong with my java, but i can't figure out how to fix it.

Here is what console reads:
Installing LimeWire 4.8.1. Java version is:
/Volumes/LimeWire/Install LimeWire.app/Contents/Resources/launchLimeWireInstaller: line 4: 444 Segmentation fault java -version
sw_vers is:
ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.3.9
BuildVersion: 7W98
Copying /Volumes/LimeWire/Install LimeWire.app/Contents/Resources/Install LimeWire.pkg to /tmp/LimeInstallation/443

any help would be greatly appreciated, because I MISS my limewire!
thanks

You just updated mac osx right? That's your problem. It seems to break the Java which LW uses. It seems to happen with many of Mac OSX's updates. Please see Stief's post HERE (click on link) & downld the update to fix the update (starting to sound like M$ windows lol)

thanks so much for your fast reply. after posting my question i updated mac os x with the apple suggested updates to java and that actually fixed my problem. three hours wasted, but problem solved.
this is the first problem i have ever run into with mac, so i am still a believer and am not switching back to Windows (yet!). lol. thanks again!
