Oh, I didn't answer the connection did I?! It looks like it is USB...it has the three pointy thing you described. I will hit the computer store this week and grab a firewall cable. I'll let you know how it goes!

That's odd then! What burner program did you use? Toast 6 is not compatible with OS 9 (whereas Toast 5 is compatible with both.) But that's not the issue. The issue seems to be OSX recognition of the external drive.

It won't be just a matter of getting a FW cable. You'd need a FW external enclosure if you want to use FW.

BTW have you tried burning in Classic mode? Chances are it wouldn't work but worth a try if you have an OS 9 only burner program. Have you considered the idea of using it as an internal drive?
