Limewire Launch Freezes My G3!
 

Before anything, I just want to say I am a LONG TIME Limewire user. Been using it since I was in OS 9. Great stuff. Having said that, I have major problems.

I spent an evening of major dowloading. Everything fine. The next day, an attempt to launce LW 4.8 freezes my Mac. Hard freeze; no mouse movement, no clock blinking in upper right corner. I mean, literally, it was fine one day and a beast the next.

Restart doesn't help. Permission fix no good. Uninstalled 4.8 and downloaded current version of LW (4.9?). Installed. No good.

Any ideas?

- 300 Mhz B & W G3, 256 MB RAM, OS X 10.3.4

It never fails. I try for about a day to fix my problem, so I go to post something in a forum, then I go and try one last time. Oh look ... problem solved. I ran the Disk Utility on my install disc; verified BOTH the disc structure and the persmissions.

So, for all those who read and viewed, thanks ... but i'm all set. If any one has any thoughts on the matter, feel fre to reply. Otherwise ... bye.
