Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

Stief made this point: Stuffit shouldn't be involved at all. The dmg should be on the desktop, and rather than double-clicking, you should control-click and use the "open with" option to choose disk utility, or just drag the dmg into disk utility

Stuffit prefs should be set to NOT open .dmg's. If the new stuffit did this, that's not good.
