Default mac intel duo issues

I have the same problem, I traded in a mac that was only a week old on the new intel duo mac and suddenly Limwire wont run, I went to Apple's website and got the idea that there is something about the way java runs on the new machine that Limwire isn't up for yet, we may have to wait for an update, perhaps one of the limewire gurus around here will investigate and give us some answers.

LW has started work so it can run on the new IntelMacs

https://www.limewire.org/fisheye/cha...20060110201914

However, they need to get the boss to get them an IntelMac so they can test it.

Any of you interested in beta -testing? Or helping ask LW to get out an intel Mac capable version?

Default duo compatability...

I downloaded Aquisition and it workded the first time, and I'm satisfied with it, I would recomend that the Limwire folks be ready for new releases and get thier software ready before people like myself buy a new machine.... It does what I want and I don't see any reason to go back.... sorrry, I really liked the limewire program until it stopped working for me. j

the typical user

Jim

That's actually also a real credit to LimeWire.

In case you didn't know, all the heavy lifting underneath ACQX is done by LW's free open-source code. So if it worked right away, don't forget to thank the guys who coded for 5 years to make that happen.

I wish the ACQX developer would support LW better, but heh, this discussion would just get acrimonious and political before lots of bad blood had been purged.

If you are going to recommend sending $ to ACQX, please also figure out how much of it LW gets and deserves.

I'm looking forward to LW on the new Intel Macs.

Any chance you guys are plants so that our developers have the excuse that they've been looking for to buy one of these machines?

gbildson: if those are plants, then I've been suckered too, and will have to plan accordingly.

Still, easy enough to test. Does the current LW run on Intel Macs?

LW listened, got an Intel Mac, and released the beta version 4.10.5 today (available from either the beta link on the bottom of your Pro page , or the beta link at the bottom of the free page at http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...loadfree.shtml )

Thanks to gbildson for the fast response, and to rogerk for the coding.

Nice work guys. Wish I could test it
