Default Firewall Puzzle

Help. I have done all of the following

I have a MAC OSX and a WRT54GS router hooked up to a Dell PC

My MAC firewall is off

I have made both computers static IP

I have port forwarded to 43739 (the number that limewire is listening on and manual port forward assigned)

I configured the router to port forward 43739 to the static IP i assgned to my MAC. I still get that stupid wall in front of the world and I can't get a good connection to my limewire.

OK, now the firewall is back in front of the globe and my connection keeps going from starting connection to turbo charged. Help me get rid of this firewall first please.

P.S. that link that says connection problems for MAC users click here is a bad link.

I imagine there are lots of bad links since the forum has been having problems. Posting the link would help eliminate some guesswork.

btw--the firewall icon (globe) will always show on startup, then go away once an incoming connection is detected. Also, try a different port, since I think 43739 is used for other purposes too, like listening for magnets, IIRC.

when you say "I have a MAC OSX and a WRT54GS router hooked up to a Dell PC," did you mean "I have a MAC OSX and a Dell PC hooked up to a WRT54GS router?" I was a bit confused by that part.
