Limewire 1.7/1.8 Can't Download I have been unable to download ANY files with Limewire. I originally had 1.7 and it was working fine, then two days ago it started doing this: Will connect to the network, can do searches, I can click on a file and with will start trying to connect to the other system, then It will say, "Couldn't Download". This will happen for every link. I have a NAT Router that hasn't given me any problems before, and this was working under OSX just fine. (I haven't tried classic yet, I run native!) I tried downloading 1.8 but it has the same problem. Anyone else ever had this happen? Thanks, Robyn Lyons |
All the time. i just assume its the nature of the beast. so many people not leaving their systems on. though lately, this will happen as soon as i pic a file to download. i am having a lot of trouble tonight. I also get a lot of "downloading" but at 0.0KB/s. is that actually transmitting anything? |
Ahhh, I don't think I made myself clear enough, this will happen within a few seconds of clicking on a link, it still is happening (1 week later). I should also mention that this IS a problem with the software somewhere, if I use LimeWire in classic mode, it will work fine, even if the downloads are from the same IP address. Robyn |
can't download Downloads failed 100% of the time when I upgraded to 1.8. However, I was always logged in as a regular user. Once I logged in as an administrator, it has worked beautifully. Hope this helps. |
Good idea, that is one that I wouldn't have thought of. However, I am the admin on this machine and I use that as my main login. (hmmmm maybe I should do a bad thing and try using Limewire as root!) Thanks for trying, Robyn |
