macboygreenbay is flying high
Default downloaded and showed up in excell

when i downloaded the new version of limewire instead of an instaler to show up on my desktop it showed as a microsoft excell document and when i open it it opens a spred sheet full of gobbly gooop and I would like to kno if anyone else had that problem and if they could help me

You didn't say where you downloaded it from. My guess is some site besides the official LimeWire site. LimeWire is a Java based app and there is no way it will open in excel. You can get LimeWire at the link below.

i downloaded it off of the limewire site just like i should but after it compleated downloading i would double click on the icon and it would take a minute to load and it would open a spread sheet full of im sure some kind of computer code

i dont know if it makes a difference but i am using os 10.2.8

It is probable that you are downloading Limewire using Internet explorer, and you should use Safari, (or Opera) to download it as IE can not do the job right
You should get a DMG file when you download

I'm slightly unsure if this is your problem but for later OSXs I would say it was for sure. Please let us know if this helps.
