Default inexplicable cpu usage

limewire uses a lot of ram. we all know that. i just fired it up with no incomplete files, no download or uploads, and it finally settled on 82MB. that's a lot for a program doing absolutely nothing, but whatever.

my real concern is the constant cpu usage. i've been watching limewire's % CPU in the activity monitor for a while, and i have yet to see it drop below 1.70%. it's usually hovering around 2.00. is it monitoring the network or something? unexplained cpu usage makes me nervous.

thanks.

I suspect you're right. Check your Connections window. Is there things happening? Go to the Monitor window & tick enable incoming searches. You notice any activity?

If you're using Tiger OSX 10.4, I'd recommend updating to Java 1.5 & using the Java preferences program in the Utilities folder to force LW to use 1.5. Setting up Java 1.5
