Tried everything. Still stuck at "Loading User Interface".

I've read all of the posts regarding this problem, and also the Stickies at the top of the forum. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have a G4 running Mac OS 10.3.9, LimeWire 4.10.9, QuickTime 7.0.1, Java 1.4.2, and I've ran the Security Update 2006-002. I've repaired permissions, dumped Limewire's preference folder, and even followed the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301380, but LimeWire still gets stuck at "Loading User Interface". As far as I know, this all began once I upgraded my system software to 10.3.9. I've had to go back to using LimeWire Classic for OS 9! Is there some solution (other than buying Tiger) that I'm overlooking? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Osx

That's odd it gets to the loading stage & doesn't get any further. If an OSX update upsets LW it's generally a Java issue. May I suggest you re-install this file http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...update142.html
If & only "if" it won't let you then go to the OSX HDD > Library > Receipts folder & remove Java 1.4.2Update file only & trash it. Then try installing again. But don't remove any other file from the receipts folder. Receipts folder sample image

java troubles

I downloaded the Java 1.4.2 Update and tried reinstalling it, but a message said, "You cannot install this software on this volumn. This volumn does not contain a version of java that needs updating." So, like you said, I went to OSX HDD > Library > Receipts folder, but the only Java receipts listed there were java.pkg and JavaSecurityUpdate4.pkg. The java.pkg had a modification date of April 17, 2004, and the JavaSecurityUpdate4.pkg had a March 7, 2006 date. I put the most recent one in the trash, and tried installing the Java 1.4.2 Update, but it still wouldn't let me install it. (I've since taken the .pkg file out of the trash and put it back in the receipts folder, just to be on the safe side.) Any other ideas? When I originally updated to Java 1.4.2, I used Software Update, so would the .pkg file be named something different? A picture of my receipts folder is here.
