Default can't download!!!

i just purchased a new macbook (my first mac). i downloaded limewire, and have tried to do a search in limewire, which turns up lots of files, but when i click on download, nothing happens.
i noticed that it says a firewall has been detected down in the lower left corner of the screen.
after searching on the internet, i found some instructions on how to disable that firewall, only when i click on system preferences>sharing>firewall>new> there is no gnutella/limewire choice in the drop down menu. i tried just clicking "other" and then typing that in, but it hasn't done anything for me.
can anyone help me to cure this problem?

OSX Tiger firewall instructions are in the 1st section here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) If you are using a router or high speed modem then make sure UPnP is enabled on that device. If you're not sure, tell us the brand & model of the connection device. (Such devices have internal NAT firewalls.)

Also, be aware of this: License requirement (click on link) & check the options.

when i use my laptop, i'm not sure how it's connecting to the internet. i guess through one of my neighbor's connection. my desktop (which is a dinosaur using windows 98), uses high-speed cable internet.
i have yet to order the router for my modem connected to my pc so that i won't have to rely on whatever wireless network i'm using now...

Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?

If true then it's fine. If false, then you have a firewall problem. Did you configure your OSX firewall? Yes you need to add Limewire/Gnutella to the list.

My guess is your problem is your connection device.

We're all over the place here. lol Who is your ISP (internet service provider)? I'm just hoping your isp is not at fault.

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
