With OSX's Java being as unstable as it is (pity Sun didn't develop it instead along with Java for all other platforms), then APE 'might' be triggering some type of issue. It's hard to know. I did see you can disable APE in the pref panes. But the problem might not be APE, it might be something else.

At any rate, I was an idiot for not _initially running limewire in a second user account. It is much more seamless; you can just do a fast user switch; and boom; up comes a full screen limewire in the process of downloading. It can download in my other user while I do important work in the main user
