firewall icon shows but I am able to download I'm actually having no problem downloading songs from others, but the icon at the bottom left shows the globe with a brick wall in front of it, however,I have my firewall shut off. I have a Mac with Tiger on it, and I use Airport Xtreme for the internet. Is this firewall preventing others from getting music from me? I haven't seen anything uploading yet. I tried to find where you add Gnutella in the allow to firewall, but there is no such thing there. I guess my main question is can other people upload my music if this brick wall icon is showing, and if not, how do I make it so that brick wall goes away. |
Uploads will be more difficult, but some may work. If the box to clear the completed uploads (in the Preferences for uploads) is unchecked, you'll be able to monitor how uploads are doing. Google should help set up port forwarding, like with this thread http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=50744 Cheers |
Apple Airport Extreme/Express for Mac users * (NAT-PMP) is worth seeing but manual port forwarding "is" generally more reliable! ;) |
I went through this a while back. I was using a router at the time, then switched back to a direct conection to the modem..Problem solved. |
