LW slows down the computer
 

I have an i book 0s x 10.9.3 , like a lot of people here, i had the problem where lm does not open and bounces in the tray. I removed it, upgraded the java, downloaded the recent version and installed it. I now works.
however, my ibook is now considrably slower when LW is running. It sometimes takes up to a minute to switch tabs in LM or openning a Finder window. This is very frustrating , as i used to be able to work while LM was opwn in the background, and now i can't.
Any suggestions?

1. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue!

2. Close all tab windows you don't need open at that time.

3. Clear searches if they're getting oldish. They go stale after a while anyway as people come & go online.

4. Disable Ultrapeer capabilities under the Speed settings in LW prefs.

5. Keep your Shares below 2,000

6. Keep LW hidden in the dock rather than in the background.

7. If LW is starting to slow the system, close it & re-open it.
